About Course

This course focuses on a framework for defensive hand fighting, and is primarily concerned with making yourself hard to submit from the back; there is very little detailed content on escaping from the position (this will be covered in a separate course). It's built around a common sequence of hand fighting and the phases are in counter correspondence to those of the offensive framework. This being said the positions and details are transferable to most hand fighting sequences.

Course Content

Phase 1 – Overhook Control
The primary defensive objective from the back is to have physical contact/control of your opponents overhook arm.

Phase 2 & 3 – Defend Entry & Exit of Overhook

Phase 4 – Fight the Hand

Phase 5 – Fight the Locking Arm
